Philips filed a lawsuit against Summit Imaging in U.S. District Court on October 29. Philips accuses Summit Imaging and CEO Lawrence R. Nguyen of “trade secret misappropriation” and more in the 38-page filing.
A Philips spokesperson emailed the following when asked about the lawsuit.
“We can confirm that Philips filed a suit in the U.S. against Summit Imaging Inc. and Lawrence R. Nguyen for circumventing technical measures, modifying copyright management information, misappropriation of trade secrets, false advertising and unfair competition,” the email states. “At Philips we respect fair competition and intellectual property rights of others and believe that other companies should abide by the same standards.”
When asked for comment regarding the filing, Nguyen replied, “We are in receipt of the complaint and are reviewing it.”
