Acertara Acoustic Laboratories, an independent ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited medical ultrasound acoustic measurement, testing, and calibration laboratory, and ISO13485:2016 certified probe repair and new product development facility announces their Research and Development team has recently been awarded United States patent #10,470,834 related to a device used for the transportation of diagnostic ultrasound transesophageal (TEE) probes within a medical facility environment.
“Our team focused on creating a TEE transportation device that would protect the probe from physical damage when in transport from the operating room to the hospital cleaning station and back. Coupled with our probe electrical leakage tester, AmpSafe, and our Aureon probe performance tester, Acertara has created three levels of protection for TEE probes against the most common causes of probe failure. Hospitals that employ this level of protection realize significant cost reductions over the life of a TEE probe,” G. Wayne Moore, CEO of Acertara, said.
