Shimadzu Medical Systems USA, a subsidiary of Shimadzu Corporation and a leader in diagnostic medical imaging systems, along with NZ Technologies of Vancouver Canada and developers of TIPSOTM technology, today announced that they have signed a one-year renewable agreement that allows Shimadzu to market and sell the innovative TIPSO AirPad® in the US healthcare market. TIPSO is a specialized medical technology that has evolved from the technical expertise and unique industrial experience of its engineering team through contributions from physicians as co-inventors who practice in the field of Interventional Radiology.
Proprietary technology enables various modes of image navigation over the TIPSO AirPad surface (functioning as mouse and keyboard at bedside) while a real-time representation of the hand and menu is shown on the system monitor display. A simple USB dongle connects the AirPad to any workstation wirelessly without having any connection to the hospital network or any type of transfer/storage of patient data to keep within HIPAA compliance.
