A patient at Sutter Health’s Mountain View Center in California experienced avoided injury in what FOX2 (KTVU) called a “freak accident.”
FOX2 (KTVU) reported that a trainee brought a wheelchair inside a MRI room and the magnetic force of the machine sucked it across the room where it attached itself sideways to the “MRI scanner door, narrowly missing the patient.”
MRI safety expert Tobias Gilk shared this example and images with KTVU. He said a witness sent him photos from Mountain View Center Imaging, operated by Sutter Health, on April 1.
