Reza Forghani, MD, Ph.D., has been named chief medical information officer (CMIO) for imaging at AdventHealth. In this new role, Forghani will provide strategic leadership for advanced imaging informatics, AI-enabled decision support, and clinical workflow optimization across the AdventHealth enterprise.
His focus will include expanding enterprise imaging governance, advancing responsible AI adoption, and strengthening partnerships that enhance diagnostic quality, operational efficiency, and clinician experience. Working closely with physicians, AIT, and operational leaders, he will guide the development of scalable digital infrastructure to support the next generation of precision imaging and data-driven care. He will report to Dr. Elie Razzouk VP/CMIO for the Central Forida Division and will continue his AHMG radiology practice.
Forghani is a board-certified neuroradiologist and a recognized thought leader in medical AI and imaging informatics. He currently serves as a member of the Radiology Executive Committee for AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division, where he has led major initiatives in imaging IT optimization, AI deployment, and workflow innovation.
Before joining AdventHealth, Forghani served as a Clinical Professor of Radiology & Artificial Intelligence at the University of Florida College of Medicine, where he founded and directed the Radiomics & Augmented Intelligence Laboratory (RAIL). Earlier in his career, he was Director of Research and Associate Professor of Radiology at McGill University, where he founded the Augmented Intelligence & Precision Health Laboratory (AIPHL), one of the earliest academic AI radiology labs in Canada.
