In an update on its website, Anderson Hospital says, “We are pleased to report that our temporary pause in new outpatient radiology appointments has been both effective and successful. We are on target to reopen diagnostic imaging on August 14 as planned in our initial statement.”
Beginning Thursday, August 14, walk-in services will resume at all outpatient radiology locations. Patients with appointments already scheduled for August 14 and later will also be seen as planned.
“While we are not yet able to open new appointment scheduling, our team is working diligently to make that available soon. Patients whose appointments were cancelled between August 6 and August 13 will be contacted directly once future scheduling resumes,” the update adds.
“By briefly pausing new outpatient radiology services, our dedicated radiology team was able to catch up on delayed interpretations – ensuring quality and patient safety remain our highest priorities. Accurate, timely radiology reports are essential, and this decision has allowed us to give every patient the careful attention they deserve.”
“Like many healthcare systems nationwide, Anderson Healthcare continues to feel the impact of a national shortage of radiologists and radiology technologists, creating widespread delays in report turnaround times,” it states.
