FUJIFILM Canada Inc., today announced the establishment of the new Medical Systems Division. The sales structure of the new division is expected to greatly expand the commercialization of Fujifilm state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging systems and make available the latest technologies to hospitals, clinics and healthcare providers in Canada. In the future, FUJIFILM Canada Inc. plans to introduce a large portfolio of diagnostic imaging systems to the Canadian market.
For the past 50 years, Fujifilm has worked together with Christie Innomed, who will continue to be the sole and exclusive authorized Canadian distributor of Fujifilm’s Synapse® complete Healthcare IT portfolio, as well as an authorized Canadian distributor of select premium Computed and Digital Radiography (CR/DR) imaging solutions. Fujifilm will continue to work in close collaboration with Christie Innomed.
Grounded in a legacy of imaging, today Fujifilm DR solutions offer clinicians workflow efficiencies while providing exceptional image quality at a low dose. The Fujifilm range of medical equipment provides versatility to meet a variety of clinical demands. In addition, Fujifilm DR is also suited for unique patient needs – including pediatrics – with its advanced image processing designed to improve image quality and dose efficiency. In the near future, FUJIFILM Canada Inc., Medical Systems Division plans to introduce a broad range of DR and women’s health solutions including a variety of portable X-ray systems, a complete DR suite, a new generation of flat panel detectors and a full field digital mammography solution with digital breast tomosynthesis.*
“Fujifilm is a company of ‘firsts’ in diagnostic imaging. In 1936, we began manufacturing X-ray films; and in 1983, we pioneered the first digitized radiography system in the world,” said Michio Kondo, President of FUJIFILM Canada, Inc. “We are honored to expand our presence in Canada with the launch of our Medical Systems Division.”
Christie Innomed continues to be the sole and exclusive authorized distributor of the Fujifilm’s Synapse® healthcare IT portfolio while also providing select premium Fujifilm diagnostic imaging solutions and services to hospitals, clinics and healthcare providers in Canada. Fujifilm’s healthcare IT solutions drive operational efficiency across the continuum of care to offer true interoperability and secure accessibility to patient images and records. Ground-breaking Fujifilm Synapse technologies combined with Christie Innomed’s integration and support expertise meet the complex needs of Canadian healthcare institutions.
