In a major realignment of its operations, Olympus of Center Valley, Pennsylvania made several executive appointments and reassignments. President and CEO Nacho Abia will now also serve as co-head of the newly created Olympus Therapeutic Solutions with Tomohisa Sakurai, who relocated from Tokyo to the United States in fall 2018. Executive Director of Internal Audit Richard Lebitz is the new Global Chief Internal Audit Officer of Olympus. Mark Miller is its Global Chief Communications Officer, and will also serve as the Regional Head of Communications for the Americas.

 

Redbud Labs of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina has added Kathryn Lawrence as its VP of Business Development, Dale Barnes as its VP of Operations, and Jay Fisher as VP of Research and Development. Lawrence has previously worked at W.R. Grace, PPD Inc., Waters Corp., Metabolon, and Biotage; Barnes, a retired Naval officer has worked at Genentech, McKesson, and Malinkrodt for 17 years.

 

Discovery Behavioral Health of Los Angeles, California has named Sandra Sellani as VP of Marketing & Sales. HealthVerity of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania named Mike Hard its new Chief Revenue Officer. Hard was most recently Chief Revenue Officer at Brickwork, and has been CEO at BountyJobs.

 

National Partners in Healthcare (NPH) of Richardson, Texas has added CPA Mike Saunders as president-CEO and a member of its board of directors. Saunders spent 14 years in anesthesia at Pinnacle Partners in Medicine; when that company was acquired by US Anesthesia Partners, Saunders became its COO. He joins NPH from HNI Healthcare. NPH also added Norman Rice as its Chief Medical Officer; Rice has been Chief of Surgery and Chief of Obstetric Anesthesia at Medical Center of Arlington, a board member of Metropolitan Anesthesia Consultants in Dallas, and served as an attending anesthesiologist at Lake Point Medical Center in Rowlett, Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Medical Center of Arlington, and Presbyterian Hospital Denton.

 

Dr. Tracy Blatt

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Life of Purpose Addiction Treatment Centers has hired Dr. Tracy Blatt as its new Medical Director. Blatt is an alumna of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with a significant concentration in molecular and cellular biology.

 

Advantia Health of Rosslyn, Virginia has added Mary Langowski to its board of directors and Nathan Barbour as Chief Growth Officer. Langowski previously served as EVP and Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer at CVS Health, led the health care and global food divisions at DLA Piper, and has served in senior roles in both state and federal government. She also serves on the boards of BioMatrix Specialty Pharmacy and Solera Health. Barbour joins Advantia Health from Evolent Health, and has been VP at the boutique investment banking firm Croft & Bender.

 

Donna Messner

The Center for Medical Technology Policy (CMTP) of Baltimore, Maryland has named President Donna Messner its new CEO, effective February 1. CMTP founder Sean Tunis will remain as a Senior Strategic Advisor.

 

Pinnacle Transplant Technologies of Phoenix, Arizona has added Roger Rose as its new CEO, replacing Keith Stoneback. Rose has been president of RTI Donor Services and EVP of RTI Surgical.

 

Pearl S. Huang

Cygnal Therapeutics of Cambridge, Massachusetts named Pearl S. Huang as its CEO. Huang was most recently SVP and global head of therapeutic modalities at Roche, has been VP and global head of discovery academic partnerships at GSK. In 2010, she founded BeiGene and served as CSO until 2012, was formerly VP of oncology integrator, discovery and early development at Merck, and led oncology discovery at GSK.

 

21st Century Oncology of Fort Myers, Florida has named Charlie Powell as its COO. Powell joins 21st Century Oncology from KentuckyOne Health in Louisville, Kentucky where he presided over Physician Enterprise and Ambulatory services for Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. Powell has been CEO at Saint Thomas Health in Nashville, Tennessee, at Saint Thomas Heart, and as CEO of the Northeast Georgia Heart Center in Gainesville, Georgia and COO of the Piedmont HealthCare in Statesville, North Carolina.

 

Adrian P. Mollo

The Arlington, Virginia-based March of Dimes has named Adrian P. Mollo as its SVP and General Counsel. Mollo was most recently general counsel for a publicly traded life sciences company, and has been a private-practice partner at McKenna Long & Aldridge and at Dentons US LLP.

 

TAE Life Sciences of Foothill Ranch, California named Robert Hill as its COO. Hill joins TAE from Accuray Incorporated, was previously VP of Engineering at North American Scientific, and held various research and development leadership roles at NOMOS Corporation.

 

Solera Health of Phoenix, Arizona has named former U.S. Medicaid CMO Andrey Ostrovsky as its CMO and VP of behavioral health. Ostrovsky most recently led Concerted Care Group in Baltimore, Maryland.

 

Iora Health of Boston, Massachusetts has named Tyler Jung as its Chief Medical Officer. Jung joins Iora from Molina Healthcare and has been CMO at DaVita HealthCare Partners Medical Group.

 

Grand Rounds of San Francisco, California named Ami Parekh its Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Parekh was most recently CMO of Population Health and Clinical Integration at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). She received her Medical Doctorate from Yale University School of Medicine and holds a Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School.

 

Doximity of San Francisco, California has named James Cox as its CFO. Cox joins Doximity from Glassdoor; he has previously been CFO at Lithium Technologies and at Advent Software.

Parikh has held various leadership positions within Amazon, including as Global Leader, Business Development & Strategy (Consumables & Consumer Healthcare) and General Manager, CPG, Consumer Healthcare, and Consumer Healthcare Innovation.

 

Donald Fillipps

WellCare of Tampa, Florida, has named Donald Fillipps medical director for its Children’s Medical Services Health Plan (CMS Plan) contract. Fillipps was recently an associate professor at the University of Florida’s School of Medicine, has been medical director of Ped-I-Care, and is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

 

Cryoport, Inc. of Irvine, California has named Daniel Hancock to its board of directors. Hancock is a retired former VP of Global Strategic Product Alliances for GM and a board member of Westport Fuel Systems, chairman for SuperTurbo Technologies, and was recently elected to the Board for Achates Power, Inc. Hancock holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BME) from the General Motors Institute (now Kettering University).

 

Masimo of Irvine, California has named Julie A. Shimer to its board of directors. Shimer is currently a private investor, and formerly was president and CEO of Welch Allyn. She has been president-CEO and a director at Vocera Communications, Inc., previously held executive positions at 3Com Corporation, and held executive positions at Motorola, Inc. Shimer also sits on the boards of Netgear, Apollo Endosurgery, Windstream Holdings and Avanos Medical, Inc. She is also a member of the Society of Women Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and holds master’s and doctorate degrees in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University.

 

John Reay

HCA Healthcare of Nashville, Tennessee has named John Reay president of HCA Healthcare UK. Reay currently serves as president of operations of HCA Healthcare UK and CEO of The Wellington Hospital; he will replace Mike Neeb, who is retiring April 1 after a 27-year career with HCA. Reay joined HCA Healthcare UK in 2000 as CEO of London Bridge Hospital, later became CEO of The Lister Hospital, and added his current responsibilities as president of operations of HCA UK in 2016 while retaining his hospital CEO role. In 2017, he became CEO of The Wellington Hospital, and has led HCA Healthcare UK since 2007. Before that he served in several multi-hospital chief financial officer roles, including CFO of HCA Healthcare UK. Neeb joined HCA Healthcare in 1991.
