Rick Majzun has been named vice president and chief operating officer of Stanford Children’s Health, which includes Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.
The Stanford, California-based Stanford Children’s Health named Rick Majzun its VP and COO. Majzun was most recently president and COO of Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island; he has been VP of operations at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and VP of Women & Infants for Barnes Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Majzun holds a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.
The San Diego, California-based Epic Sciences, Inc. named Joel Smith its general counsel and EVP of corporate development. Smith has been a senior executive and general counsel for BioQ, Triad Therapeutics, and Sientra, Inc. He most recently was managing counsel at Qualcomm Life. Smith has a Juris Doctorate and MBA, both from the University of Michigan.
Ruth Ann Rigby

Varin Gosein, MD
Orbit Health of Los Angeles, California named Varin Gosein its Medical Director. Gosein has most recently been Chief of Telepsychiatry for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the New York University School of Medicine.
Jumptuit Health of New York, New York added Vivian Lopez-Blanco to its board of directors. Lopez-Blanco is the former CFO and treasurer of Mednax Inc.

John Lewis, Executive Director, Heart Valve Voice US

The Washington, D.C.-based Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) has added Bristol-Myers Squibb Chairman and CEO Giovanni Caforio as chair of its board of directors. Caforio had previously been chair-elect of the board; he succeeds the retiring Olivier Brandicourt, CEO at Sanofi.

Maximilian Muenke
The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) of Bethesda, Maryland named Maximilian Muenke its new CEO. Muenke is a physician-scientist who spent a decade with the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Since 2000, he has been Senior Investigator, Head of the Human Development Section, and Chief of the Medical Genetics Branch at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Scott Magnano
The Scottsdale, Arizona-based Medicx Media Solutions named Scott Magnano its new CFO. Magnano joins the company from CNA National Warranty, where he was AVP for financial planning and analysis; he has previously been director of financial planning and analysis at LifeLock.
AbCellera of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada named Tryn Stimart its general counsel and Andrew Booth its CFO. Stimart joins the company from Gibbons P.C., and has also been legal counsel at Finnegan LLP., Cooley LLP., and Womble Bond Dickinson LLP. Booth joins the company from STEMCELL Technologies, where he has been VP of Instrumentation, CFO, and Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to STEMCELL, he was based in London leading mergers and acquisitions for GE Healthcare. He will step down from the company’s board of directors with the assumption of his new position.
Herman McKenzie
