Richard “Chip” Davis

 

Richard “Chip” Davis has been named CEO of the Detroit, Michigan-based Henry Ford Hospital, as well as senior vice president and CEO of the Henry Ford Health System south market. Davis replaces the hospital’s outgoing CEO, John Popovich, Jr., M.D., who retired earlier in 2018.

 

Cross Country Healthcare Inc. will lose president, CEO, and director William J. Grubbs to retirement after six years in the roles. Grubbs plans to step down when his contract expires at the end of March 2019, but may leave earlier if his replacement is found sooner, and will assist in the search for his replacement.

 

U.S. Stem Cell Inc. added Phil Posa as senior vice president of U.S. and international sales. Posa was most recently CEO at Stem Cell Centers of Idaho.

Robert M. Brenner, M.D

 

Codiak BioSciences Inc. has named Robert M. Brenner, M.D. its executive vice president and head of research and development. Brenner joins Codiak from Orionis Biosciences.

 

Florida Community Care, a subsidiary of Independent Living Systems, has named David Rogers as its executive director and COO. Rogers was most recently the managing principal of Health Management Associates Medicaid Market Solutions, has been AHCA’s assistant deputy secretary for Medicaid operations, and was Idaho’s state Medicaid director from 2003 to 2006.

 

After a decade as CFO of Omnicell Inc., Rob Seim will retire from that post in March 2019 to assume a role on the company’s board of directors. In 13 years with the company, Seim also has been its executive vice president of finance, administration, and manufacturing, and its president of global automation and medication adherence.

 

Michael Fogarty

Healogics has named Michael Fogarty its COO, replacing the retiring Greg Martin. Fogarty was most recently senior vice president of operations global quality at UnitedHealth Group. A former U.S. Marine, he was one of the first GE black belts to have been hired into a continuous improvement quality role in 1995. Fogarty holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota.

 

ORHub Inc. has named neurosurgeon Burak Ozgur to its medical advisory board. Ozgur is double-board certified in neurological and spinal surgery, co-authored a guide on minimally invasive spinal surgery techniques, and practices with full staff and privileges at Hoag Hospital. He has a medical degree from the University of Vermont.

 

The Phoenix Children’s Heart Center of Phoenix, Arizona, has named Wayne J. Franklin its center co-director, director of the adult congenital heart disease program, and chair of adult medicine at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Franklin was most recently with Texas Children’s Hospital, where he founded the Texas adult congenital heart program; he has been chief of cardiology at the Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women, and earned his medical degree from Williams College and the UCLA School of Medicine.

 

Gil Tadmor

DLH Holdings Corp. has named Gil Tadmor its corporate chief technology officer. Tadmor joined DLH in 2015, having previously served in technology leadership roles with SCI Group, Gene Logic, Corvis Corporation, and Raytheon.

 

Bionik Laboratories has added Audrey D. Thévenon  and Charles Matine to its board of directors, replacing retiring directors Michal Prywata and Marc Mathieu, and bringing the number of seats on the body to seven.

 

Varian of Palo Alto, California has added Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) president and CEO chief executive officer Jeffrey R. Balser, MD, PhD to its board of directors, effective October 1, 2018.

 

Kathy Early

USMD Hospital at Fort Worth has named Kathy Early its CEO and chief nursing officer (CNO), roles she has held on an interim basis at the hospital since June 2018. Early brings nearly 30 years of health care experience to the roles, and has been with USMD since 2003.

 

Kaufman Hall of Skokie, Illinois has named Kermit Randa its CEO of software. Randa was most recently chief growth officer for Navicure/ZirMed (now Waystar) and has been CEO of PeopleAdmin.

 

Pursuit Vascular Inc. has promoted board member Roy Martin, Jr. to executive chairman. Martin has served as chaired its board since 2012. His career as a senior executive in global information businesses included his own venture capital firm, WELM Ventures, and a tenure as one of five division CEOs at Thomas Reuters.

 

David A. Watson

Akiri has named David A. Watson its CEO. The former Kaiser Permanente CTO brings more than 30 years of health care and technology leadership experience to the company, which was spun off from Health2047 Inc.

 

The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, Division of General Thoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, has added Taylor Ripley as an associate professor of surgery. Ripley will perform surgeries at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, will see patients at Baylor Clinic, and will direct the mesothelioma treatment center within the hospital’s lung institute. He joins the Baylor team from the Thoracic and Oncologic Surgery Branch of the National Cancer Institute, where he was associate professor of surgery.

 

Jonathan R. Turton

Broward Health Medical Center of Fort Lauderdale, Florida has named Jonathan R. Turton its CEO. Turton most recently was CEO at Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he has also been COO.

 

HCA Healthcare has promoted president and CEO Sam Hazen to CEO, succeeding the retiring R. Milton Johnson, and a member of its board of directors. Hazen has been with the company for 36 years as its COO and former president and CFO of its Western Group. Johnson will chair the board through its 2019 annual shareholder meeting, at which point he will be succeeded in that role by Thomas F. Frist III, son of HCA Healthcare founder Thomas Frist, Jr.

James Anderson, MD

Know Labs Inc. has added James Anderson, MD, as a medical director and the chair of it medical, scientific and regulatory affairs advisory board. A diabetologist and endocrinologist, Anderson has spent 40 years in military medicine and the pharmaceutical industry.

 

The Joint Commission of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois has named 13-year veteran Chad Larson its executive director of hospital business development, and Lisa DiBlasi Moorehead, as associate nurse executive.
