Shared Medical Services (SMS), through a strategic collaboration with United Imaging, will be the first in the United States to offer a mobile digital positron tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) unit.
“SMS is excited to debut mobile digital PET/CT at this year’s RSNA and offer this service to our customers,” states SMS co-CEO, Lisa Arington. “This service will improve access to the latest imaging technologies for facilities and patients across
the country, regardless of location.”
“With this collaboration, SMS and United Imaging will increase access to state-of-the-art diagnostic cancer detection and staging tools and greatly increase the standard of care provided with digital technology. Having the ability to provide mobile digital PET/CT services through SMS will allow health systems, medical centers, hospitals, imaging centers and clinics to improve their standard of care to better serve their patients,” according to a press release.
“We are continuously striving to bring the latest technology and the best service to market, each and every day,” adds co-CEO Greg Glesinger. “We are committed to that and that will never change.”
