MadisonHealth’s Daisy Rosas, R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT), RDMS (AB, OB/GYN), is a sonographer as well as an X-ray and CT tech. She holds multiple degrees as well as an academic certificate in diagnostic medical sonography. She is a local product who grew up “in a small town called Rexburg, Idaho” where she now works.
Daisy appears to have a desire for education and helping others. ICE Magazine recently found out more about this Rising Star in a Q&A.
Q: Where did you receive your imaging training/education?
A: I received my imaging training and education through Idaho State University (ISU) in Pocatello, Idaho, for my medical imaging degrees. I graduated in May 2024 with my bachelor of science in radiographic science (cum laude) and bachelor of arts in Spanish for health professions (cum laude). Later, I applied and was accepted to ISU’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program for fall 2024. In August 2025, I graduated with an academic certification in diagnostic medical sonography. Currently, I have certifications through ARRT for radiography and computed tomography and ARDMS certifications in abdomen (AB), and obstetrics & gynecology (OB/GYN)
Q: How did you first decide to start working in imaging?
A: Observing my mother’s ultrasounds of my siblings sealed my faith in pursuing a career in medical imaging. As an 8-year-old girl, it was fascinating to feel a baby inside my mom while seeing them on the screen!
Q: What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
A: Having the ability to help a patient in getting a diagnosis while forming a connection with them is the most rewarding feeling. Once they are in my care, I take care of them as if they were my family. I would want my own family members to be treated well and that’s the energy I give to my patients.
Q: What do you like most about your position?
A: I love the variety I get to do as a multi-modality technologist. In my current position, I can still do radiography, CT and sonography at my facility and rotate through each. I can interact with multiple patients as their sonographer, radiographer or CT technologist. It’s never a boring day in the radiology department.
Q: What interests you the most about the imaging field?
A: Every modality is different. Every patient is different and unique in their own way. It’s amazing how everyone is unique inside and out – literally! It’s amazing how far the technology in medical imaging has advanced throughout the years. I’m excited to see what upcoming breakthrough in technology will help us technologists and our patients for their diagnosis.
Q: What has been your greatest accomplishment in your field thus far?
A: As a first-generation graduate, completing a bachelor’s and graduating from university was my greatest accomplishment. In terms of imaging field, the many boards and certifications that I was able to obtain these past two years. I am grateful to be in the position that I am in, having the ability to help patients and provide them with the care they deserve. Every day in this career feels like I’m accomplishing something!
Q: What goals do you have for yourself in the next five years?
A: After obtaining additional experience in the modalities I am certified in, I would like to volunteer my time for a nonprofit that serves medically underserved regions specifically in medical imaging. It would be a great opportunity to see other regions of the world where medical imaging is scarce and find a way to help these regions the best I can. Some personal goals are to travel and experience different cultures. I would like to pursue a master’s in relation to healthcare. Finally, I want to obtain more certification, specifically in sonography, to help better serve my patients that I come across.
